Oil & filter service
Oil & filter service – is our basic service where we change the oil and oil filter only. This usually takes around half an hours labour plus parts.
Basic engine service
Our next service is a Basic engine service – this includes changing the oil and filter, air filter, fuel filter where present, and spark plugs for a petrol vehicle. This is usually around an hours labour plus parts.
Full service with visual check
Next is a full service with visual check – this is basically the same as the engine service but with the addition of changing the pollen filter, and a visual inspection of the brakes and suspension, exhaust, lights, wipers and washers etc. This is usually around 2 hours labour plus parts
Fully comprehensive service
Our last service is a fully comprehensive service. This contains everything in the engine and full service above – BUT we strip clean and inspect all the brakes and check all transmission oil levels. This can take from 3 hours labour plus parts

Previous work
This Vauxhall insignia came in too us with an oil leak and suspected head gasket. What we found was a previous bad repair using red sealant on a rubber gasket. And the multilayer steel head gasket had broken between the cylinders.
Big job breaking out today. Low oil level caused common timing chain issue on the discovery. Timing chain is behind the flywheel. That’s a lot of parts too remove.

After a customers shogun failed its MOT on corroded brake pipes – he was shocked and wondered why…??
His old garage did a “yearly wax oil” for him….
So we showed him the underneath & how unfortunately, the past garage had missed wax oiling these vital pipes, causing them to corrode
So we stripped off all the old wax oil on the rest of the car that had become loose; replaced the brake pipes, and gave the old girl some much needed love and attention.

Rob is the sole director of Stella Motors and has been a mechanic for 30+years. He started of as an apprentice mechanic for peugeut, then went to work for malcolm down in bridgehome, he then came to work at stella motors before buying the company and running it for himself.
Rob has worked on various vehicles including subaru’s, classic cars and everything imbetween.
In his spare time, he races in the CNC heads race series (you can follow his results on his stellamotorsport facebook page) and enjoys mountain biking.
